Ingredients : Serves 4
- 500 g Tuna fish fillets
- chopped garlic and cloves
- 4 tablespoons cooking oil ( Vegetable or Coconut oil )
- 1 teaspoon turmeric powder
- 2 tablespoons curry powder
- 1 teaspoon red chili powder
- 2 curry leaves
- 1 Big chopped Onions
- Salt to taste
- 1/4 teaspoon fenugreek ( mahaduru) seeds
- 1 tablespoon tamarind pulp
- 1/2 cup hot water
- Some Ginger
Wash the tuna fish fillets and cut in to pieces so that it can be served well. Once the fish is cut wash with turmeric mixed water in terms of getting rid of unnecessary odor and any bacteria ( in case if it has ). After leaving it in the turmeric water take out the fish fillets and drain the water.
Now it’s time to marinate the fish. Take the tamarind pulp and discard its fiber and seeds by using the drainer. place the fish fillets in a wok add tamarind pulp, curry powder, chili powder, turmeric powder and some salt and mix thoroughly and leave it for 20 minutes so that fish fillet can absorb the spices.
Heat the wok and Vegetable or Coconut oil in and then fry fenugreek seeds and curry leaves for 3-4 mins. Now add onion, ginger and garlic in to the wok so that you can mix them altogether. ( This is where the great smell comes ymmm ). Now add marinated fish fillet in to the wok cook it for 15 mins and make sure when you cook, cover the wok with a lid so that fish fillet cook with the steam as well.
Now the fish curry is ready to be serverd. Remember this is best served in white rice but it can be eaten with Naan, parata, or chapaathi.
